Electric vehicles that are either partially or fully powered on electric power. There are several different types of electric vehicles available on the market:

There are approximately 20 publicly available charging stations throughout the City. Most of the public chargers are concentrated in the denser parts of the city to the north.

On May 3, 2023, the 市议会 approved fees and policies for City-owned EV chargers. Effective July 3, 2023, the EV charging fees and policies are as follows:

Longstanding concerns around carbon dioxide and other Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions has motivated technological development in alternatives to conventional gasoline powered vehicles. 这个项目解决了出行需求, while also improving air quality and reducing pollution to our ecosystems. 电动汽车对环境和经济都有利. 用电而不是汽油, EVs produce less greenhouse gas emissions and reduce our carbon footprint.

 The availability of charging infrastructure gives drivers confidence that they would be able to charge their vehicles while away from home. This effort is consistent with the City’s commitment to California’s near-term GHG reduction goal of 40% reductions below 1990 levels and the Mayors’ 佣金 on Climate Change to achieve carbon zero by 2045.

The program is funded by the Sacramento Area Council of 政府’s Green Region Grant in the amount of $2,665,000. ChargePoint partnered with the City and will provide a discount on consultant services and equipment to meet the match required for the Green Region Grant.
